About the Artist

Steven Schroeder

Steven was born and raised in Northeast Wisconsin. He grew up on a farm in the country outside of Gillett, Wisconsin with four sisters and two brothers.

He worked for many years in the logging industry. He also worked in home construction and retired from a pallett factor a few years ago.

He has four children, two sons and two daughters, as well as, six grandchildren and a seventh on the way.

Steven loves nature. His favorite subjects are landscapes, animals, and flowers. He really enjoys the challenge of creating a piece of art an any media that can be found. He has done several paintings on old saw blades, tree stumps, large toad stools, and stretched canvas hoops.

He has done paints of the family pet or prized horses. He has also done paintings of family members past and present.

Steven also creates his own picture frames and wood crafts. He has made several cedar chests for his family including individualized painted designs.
